Artist Info:

Lorant enters 2012 celebrating the 2nd year of his label Royal Advisor Records and with a new monthly podcast spreading the word on his brand of deep tech house he calls Illogical Techno. Lorant's obsession with vinyl began at a very early age in Istanbul where he used to play his parents' Michael Jackson records nonstop. A fascination with new and bright sounds also dates back to this period of his childhood when he was given a Casio SA-20 keyboard. Relocating to New York in elementary school, his love for electronic music grew via radio mix shows and with a devotion to The Prodigy’s Fat of the Land album. He then began frequenting clubs Vinyl and Twilo, getting schooled in house music the true New York way. Lorant spent the summer before college working for idol and friend Danny Tenaglia. After some time at the Fashion Institute of Technology, he got a job at the legendary Twisted Records where he acquired a firsthand look into the business side of dance music for two years. At the label he helped promote Yoko Ono's "Walking On Thin Ice" and Oscar G. & Ralph Falcon's "Dark Beat" to a Billboard No. 1 spot. During this period, his DUBassline remix of "The Hook" by Geoff Gains would exhibit his passion for music production. In 2006 Lorant released his first single "Hot Flash" on Twisted, followed by a remix of the house classic "Divas to the Dancefloor" for Junior Vasquez's JVM label along with a remix of the club hit "Shadows of Your Love" by Krystal Cruz. More recently he has reworked acid house master DJ Duke's "Blow Your Whistle" for SoundGroove Records and Def Jam poet Emanuel Xavier's "Legendary" for Hades Music. His EP, The History of Love, and latest single "The Saint" are available on Royal Advisor Records, the label he launched to bring fresh New York City talent to the world in all spectrum of dance and electronic music.
