More Info
Deeply AgnosticOriginally from Newcastle, London resident Jobe became interested in electronic music at the age of 22. With the purchase of his first set of turntables, Jobe began to develop his mixing skills first with commercial house, then with more diverse genres. It wasnt long before he was DJing regularly, warming up for the likes of DJ Craze, Plump DJs and Scratch Perverts. His mixes range from bass driven dubstep, liquid drum & bass, experimental hip-hop, and his biggest loves, deep/tech house and electronica.Starting in 2009, he began working with Propellerheads Reason. Drawing inspiration from his far-ranging musical interests, Jobe quickly reached a level that most beginning producers reach only after years of effort.Deeply Agnostic is a stripped down interpretation of the classic house sound. A layer of percussion plays a counterpoint to an organ stab, and an insistent and deep bassline holds down the low end. Some choice vocal samples provide the hook and connect the track to a long tradition in house music. The RemixesSan Francisco DJ/producer Dave Aju injects a dose of disco and funk to the track, turning it into a rugged, laid back groove with pitched down snares and Ajus signature style to the vocal. Nude Photo Music artist Jon Gillham transforms the track into a main-room stomper, with some progressive elements and an infusion of techno in his Dichard Rawkins mix. Another Nude Photo Music regular, Gold Code, returns with a stripped-down percussion and bass-driven take on the original. And label head Audioelectronic closes out the release with a funky, melodic, and spacious mix perfect for 6am sets.
